Dell Gardo sure belts it out on this 45. His voice was what first tipped me off that something was amiss with my ION turntable because it kept crackling like electricity when he hit the high notes. Which forced me to shelve him for a month or so since finding this gem at a Goodwill in Knoxville, Tennessee along with a second copy of Bill Parks masterpiece.  

Gardo was apparently a cruise ship manager in Miami and also doubled as the talent. I could find little else about him. There is one short blurb in a 1961 Indiana paper about a folk singer with the same name performing at a school. It says hes from New York City having come from the Canary Islands and sang songs in Italian, Spanish, English and French. Sounds like our guy. He was accompanied by a Joe Longstreth on harp.
