Apple�s iPhone 6 And iPhone 6 Plus Top A Record 4 Million Pre Orders In First 24 Hours

Apple announced yesterday that they have received a record number of pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in its first 24 hours of availability. The number has actually surpassed 4 million, putting this release on track to be the biggest launch in the companys 38 year history. The decision to move to two larger-screen devices appears to be a stroke of genius by Apple as consumers from ten territories ensured that the initial stock was completely depleted.

Two years ago when Apple launched the iPhone 5, there were 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hour. This was the first iPhone model to move away from the standard 3.5 inch display across to a 4 inch offering. Last year when we had two models to choose from, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, 9 million units were sold during hte first weekend of actual availability in digital and brick and mortar stores. Yesterdays announcement of 4 million units sold as part of a pre-order offer puts Apple on track to completely obliterate those numbers.

Judging by initial stock level updates when pre-orders went live, it looks like the jumbo-size iPhone 6 Plus model is proving to be the most popular. This is potentially down to a large number of Android users decided to take advantage of the power of iOS 8 on a larger screen device. This theory has also been backed up by announcements from buyback services relating to a huge increase in Samsung devices being traded in after the Apple announcement.

To coincide with the initial success of the iPhone 6, it is being reported that Apple has already instructed a number of manufacturing partners to ramp up their production schedule by 30 to 40% on last years initial run of the two available iPhone models. Apple also announced via an official press release that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will be available in an additional 20 countries on Friday, 26th September. Tim Cook has also described the iPhone 6 models as being better in every way and he is thrilled that customers love them as much as he does. If all these figures are anything to go by, it looks like 4 million people are in agreement with Mr. Cook. What about you, have you pre-ordered your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus model yet?

How to install it.
Requires Dark Core 2.x - DONT HAVE TO. You need to factory RESET before flashing new ZIP file and make sure you are in JVQ, else please flash to any JVQ kernel.

The full Lagfix (normal + system) needs to be ON (active) or you get stuck at boot!- Means you need to be in EXT4 file format before flashing

1.) Get in the Market and install the new DarkyROM Tool.
2.) Copy the DarkyROM v10.2 zip file to your internal sdcard.
3.) Start the DarkyROM Tool and go to the DarkyROM Tab.
4.) Choose all options you want.

Im already have JVQ installed from GingerReal. Sample configuration before installing v10.2

NOTICE: Dont use Ad-Hoc, as it can cause issues.
Also WIPE if you are not already on JVQ. Dont skip the kernel, so you get the updated Dark Core.

5.) Go to the General Tab and select "Reboot into Recovery". Factory RESET (Just to make sure all apps are FRESH)
6.) Browse to the ROM and select it. Everything will be flashed automatically.

In case you wonder about the battery life....1st days of using it. Most of the time, after 2 or 3 battery cycle it would be better.

Developer options. Force GPU and Transition to 0.5 or set no transition at all.

Apple Sends Out Invites For iPad Mac Event On October 16th

We have just learned that Apple have sent out invitations to a special media event that will be held on the 16th of October. It will take place at Town Hall on the companys Cupertino campus. This event was a certainty and we are glad that we finally have the official date. This is going to be Apples second major keynote in a many months and in this post we will tell you what we think the event will entail.

We dont know exactly what is on the agenda but the official tagline �its been way too long� is on all the invitations and this suggests that at least one of the products or features at this event has been due some attention for quite a long time.

This tagline could allude to the Mac mini, which hasnt had an upgrade of any significance for nearly two years. A number of reports suggest that the compact desktop could be subject to a number of enhancements, although it isnt suggested that a redesign is on the agenda. There is also talk of the iMac being treated to Retina display, which would bring the all-in-one desktop up to par with the likes of the MacBook Pro in terms of sharpness. While the 27 inch model could be getting the 5K treatment, the smaller 21.5 inch model wont be joining it.

The iPad Air is going to get a refresh and we have already seen leaks that have pointed to a thinner form factor, Touch ID, and minor aesthetic tweaks. The iPad mini might also be following suite, and if so, we expect that both of Apples tablets will benefit from a variant of the new A8 processor which was first seen with the iPhone 6.

OS X Yosemite is also poised to hit the Mac App Store very soon and we are fairly confident that this desktop software will be mentioned at this event. It was originally announced way back at WWDC and we expect it to be announced on the 16th. IOS 8.1 is also on the way and that is going to bring with it Apple Pay.

With all of these things to look forward to, Thursdays event is going to be one that you wont want to miss. We will of course be bringing you all the relevant information and take away bits from Apples next major event. We cant wait, can you?
